Welcome
Our vision for this blog is to give voice to every person in our Network and to share insights, advice, and personal travel experiences with the entire blogosphere.
In 1988 when API Travel Consultants, the predecessor to Virtuoso, wanted to communicate we had fewer options. We could schedule a conference call, send a postal mailing, bring everyone together for our annual conference – Travel Mart, or (this was really progressive) we could send a fax blast.
Fast forward more than two decades and social media have given us new ways to communicate. We text, link, post, poke, comment, tweet – and we blog!
We encourage you to participate by visiting, reading, and commenting often.

As a tour guide in Patagonia I had the experience of working for Virtuoso members.
It has always been a very good experience to work for your passengers.

Mr Matthew Upchurch / Virtuoso
I hope that you can look at the Philippines as another destination for your travellers and readers. There are so many awesome and gorgeous destinations here, one of which is Discovery Shores Boracay, a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member and recently voted by Travel + Leisure readers as one of Asia’s Top Resorts. I am sure you have also heard of Palawan, Cebu, and Davao just to name a few. So we invite you to visit WOW Philippines.
I am glad I came across this blogpost and I will make sure to visit every so often.
Best, Gemma

I have, after over 20 years of being a travel agent, just recently joined the family of Virtuoso. I have to admit is all I expected and more. Coming from the Gay Travel industry, it is a pleasure and honor to be part of this network and find myself working together with this international Elite of Travel Agents.
I specialize in Inbound Travel to Argentina, Uruguay, New York city. I am also an Expert and referent into International Gay Travel.
I might speak Gay, but I am fluent in Straight so I welcome everyone to contact me for assistance or advice.
Cheers. Carlos Melia – CM by Carlos Melia.

I was born and educated in Europe (Holland) and have travelled my whole life. I am a CTC which means Certified travel Councelor which is the highest designation one can hold in this industry.
I love Virtuoso and the quality of the suppliers/guides/onsites I work with on a daily basis is amazing. I can design any trip from scratch or embellish a simple cruise to become an amazing extended experience. I love Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Having said that — what’s not to love ? South America, Alaska – beautiful USA – Antarctica – ah – jsut give me a call or email: Adriana@universaltravel.biz

I just saw Matthew Upchurch on the Today show, NBC. I have worked for an airline for over 25 years. In these days of the dot com’s selling airline tickets, I would suggest passengers use a travel adviser. Most of the dot com’s, not all, will not service the passenger after the sale. They tell people to contact the airline and there are several reasons the airline cannot help them, they truly need their travel adviser to help them, which the dot com’s don’t do. I’ve told the dot com’s they are the travel adviser when they chose to sell the tickets. A travel adviser is still a great way to go.
Happy Travels!!
